KK to perform at Meghalaya's next Rock city, Tura
IN AN effort to focus spotlight on the diverse communities and music-loving people of Garo Hills, renowned pop star and background singer, Krishna kumar Kunnath (popularly known as KK) will perform for the first time in the Northeast at Tura on December 8.

Informing this at a press conference, event manager of Green House Entertainment, Sumita Jana claimed Tura is being neglected in terms of national and international shows which are only organised in Meghalaya’s capital.

“Meghalaya is a place for music lovers, but why not Tura? Why Shillong alone?” questioned Jana, even as she stated that a national event such as this which is to be held in Tura for the first time, will bring together the whole of Garo Hills.
“This show will give recognition to the rich heritage and cultural diversity of Tura paving the way to its development,” said HR chief of SS NetCom, Ambika Rai, adding, that this will also shift focus to the other regions in the state and the Northeast. Organised by a private IT company, SS Net Com and Sangma Entertainment Group, this will be the first national level show in Tura.

KK will arrive in Guwahati on December 7. He will be flown by chopper to Tura and will perform in the MP ground on December 8. Local band – Rough Road will open the show with popular local talent – Sunday Star. The highlight of the show will be a spectacular display of laser lights and the 60, 000 watt sound system. Tickets of Rs 150 are already out in the market. A crowd of 20,000 is expected for the show.

“KK has always wanted to do shows in the Northeast and knows that Tura is a popular music destination after Shillong. He is really looking forward to the show,” informed HR chief of SS NetCom, Ambika Rai.

KK reverberates Tura with his melodies

Music has once again proved that it knows no boundary and religion as Tura a small town in Garo hills rocked at the melodious voice of KK, the mascot of aspiring singers. 5000 odd audience were enchanted by the songs by Hindi rock-star KK.

THE FIRST of its kind in Garo Hills, KK Live concert at Tura on December 8, 2008, was a life time experience for the audience with the mesmerising voice of the mascot for younger generation, KK belting out one hit after another.

The event of this magnitude in the region was organised under the aegis of Sangma Group of Companies and it evoked tremendous enthusiasm amongst localites. Hindi rock-star Krishna Kumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK attracted around 5000 odd audience at the MP stadium. This huge crowd was spellbound, KK stirred them to sway to his melody.

The versatile singer KK had shot into fame with a number of popular songs, which include many hits like Dosti, Pal, Kehta rahe, Mujhe kuch kehana hai, Awarapan, Fanah, Beete Lamhein, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Om Shanti Om, Dhoom, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Gangster, Woh Lamhein, Dhoom 2, besides, several others.
He has sang about twenty popular melodies from his huge list of tracks, reverberating the atmosphere at the concert.
